‘The Space Between’ is a painting dedicated to the intimate art of feeling a connection with another human being without the use of verbal communication.
The space in between each person’s hands represents the palpable pull that we can sometimes feel with others whom we can genuinely feel a connection with on a molecular level. The mycelium surrounding the hands are representative of how a genuine and strong connection with one another can feel all-consuming, and essentially resemble or imitate these complex networks of information sharing through non-verbal signals and cues.
This painting is a way of expressing how grateful I am to have connected with so many beautiful people throughout 2024 and much of 2025. This piece invites you to think about who and how you connect with other human beings.

This painting was inspired by the awestruck feeling of looking up to the night sky while camping, or simply enjoying a night amongst the universe. You know the feeling - when you’re staring into what seems like a mind-melting abyss of billions of stars, moons, planets, black holes, and matter in all forms - and you feel a sense of heightened awareness come over all of your senses. I wanted to recreate that frame of mind, by focusing on the full moon and the energy that she brings on a night like this. I personally cherish moments specifically like this, where I can reflect on what it means to be where I am, in this body, on this planet, in this time. It is in these moments where I remember my purpose as an artist, and most importantly as a human being surrounded by love.
