This painting was inspired by the awestruck feeling of looking up to the night sky while camping, or simply enjoying a night amongst the universe. You know the feeling - when you’re staring into what seems like a mind-melting abyss of billions of stars, moons, planets, black holes, and matter in all forms - and you feel a sense of heightened awareness come over all of your senses. I wanted to recreate that frame of mind, by focusing on the full moon and the energy that she brings on a night like this. I personally cherish moments specifically like this, where I can reflect on what it means to be where I am, in this body, on this planet, in this time. It is in these moments where I remember my purpose as an artist, and most importantly as a human being surrounded by love. If you connect to this artwork, that is an honour.
